Ministry Staff

My full name is Keith David Carmichael, but everyone calls me David. Growing up I lived in many places, including Northern Indiana, Ohio, Anderson, and Lafayette. I graduated from Highland High School, in Anderson, Indiana. I went on to get an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Purdue as well as an Associate’s in Business from Ivy Tech. You would think that I would be running an electrical business from my education, but somehow I ended up driving semis and school buses. My wife, Carrie, and I live on the Northwest side of Indianapolis. We celebrated our 5th anniversary on October 2nd of 2009, which is about how long we have been going to Cornerstone. I met Carrie at the FedEx hub on the south side of Indy. We both worked there together for a while. When we met, it didn’t take long to figure out we loved each other. We were actually married in the old church building, which is no longer standing.

I have many likes. I like all sorts of food, but steak would probably be my favorite. I love people, though I am more of a one-on-one type of person. I enjoy soccer and football. My hobby is rollerblading (X-games type stuff). I like knives and trucks. Church is great, and I long to be what God would have me to be. If I could sum up in one Bible verse what I would like to accomplish in this lifetime with my wife, it would be Luke 1: 6, which reads “And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.” It’s a great goal. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little. I hope to meet you some day in person.

More Information About Me

My responsibilities at church are... I work in several positions. I serve as a Deacon, adult small group teacher, audio visual technician, and an usher.

My favorite thing about being at Cornerstone is...the family aspect. At Cornerstone you have a chance to really get to know one another. It’s not just a Sunday relationship. The body of Christ at this church also really truly needs your service as well. Everyone has a real opportunity to get involved and make a difference. At Cornerstone 20% of the body doesn’t do 80% of the work for Christ. As far as I can tell, everyone is very much involved in serving. It doesn’t matter how old or young.

If I had a dream vacation...it would actually be relaxing and doing fun things around town with my wife. We actually did this recently for our five year anniversary.

My Favorite Bible verse is...I would have to say I don’t have a favorite.

If you want to read a good book get…How a Man Prays for His Family by John Yates. Like many of the books I read (ask anyone), I haven’t made it through this one yet, but so far I really like it.

If I could do a hobby for a living I’d...definitely be a pro rollerblader. However, I don’t envy all the traveling that they have to do, and I wouldn’t want to be forced to skate a certain style just because it’s popular. I would need more creative control.

My favorite sports team to cheer for is...the Colts and the Steelers.

The best movie I’ve seen is...The Lord of the Rings trilogy. (The extended versions of course).
